OWNER OF URLICE WINERY, WINE-ROUTE ENTREPRENEUR

Izmir born architect, Bilge Bengisu Ogunlu pursued her life time dream to establish a boutique winery in her home land after 16 years of working in the U.S.A. Together with her husband Reha they created the Urlice brand in 2006 and since  are trying to establish a model for small scale farming as well as creating an agrotourism destination. Ms. Bengisu is a founding member of Urla Viticulture and Winery association and also the founding president of a local independent convivium which aims to showcase the legacy of local food traditions and sustainable agricultural development of the region.
