B.Z. Goldberg
Founder of Mediterranean Food Lab
B.Z. Goldberg is an award-winning film director, researcher and culinary entrepreneur. He is best known for his academy award nominated film Promises about the children of the Middle East conflict, and the 8º East series, which forms the central exhibit of Klimahaus Bremerhaven, the world’s first and most successful museum dedicated entirely to climate change. B.Z. spent a decade as a management consultant focusing on innovation and change management for Fortune 100 companies and small family firms such as Deloitte & Touche, BCG, AT&T, IBM, Columbia University, Solidarity Social Foundation (Poland), Toyota, Kawasaki, Levis Straus, and others. In recent years B.Z. has focused on food system research and has presented and co-authored papers in Cel, the Oxford Symposium on Food, Science of Food and Agriculture, and others. B.Z. is co-founder of “Land of Wheat” a groundbreaking initiative bringing entrepreneurs, scientists, farmers, and food experts together to study and restore the near-extinct grain biodiversity of the Levant, the project works in strategic collaboration with partners such as The UN’s Crop Trust, the Vavilov Institute in St. Petersburg, Russia, The Israel Gene Bank, Volcani, Hebrew University, the Weizmann Institute, The Rothschild Foundation and others.
BZ is a co-founder of the Mediterranean Food Lab, where he serves as director of R&D. When he was much younger he cooked at gastro-pubs, and small fine dining restaurants in Israel, Europe, and the US.
