Cynthia Barcomi

Cynthia Barcomi was born in Seattle, Washington as the youngest of three girls.  She went to an all girls’ boarding school in upstate New York and ultimately studied theater and philosophy at Columbia University. After graduating from college with honors, Cynthia moved to Berlin and became a professional dancer.  She danced for eight years before and in 1994 opened her first café - a coffee roastery and bakery in Kreuzberg.  2 ½ years later, Barcomi’s Deli in Mitte followed.  In 2007 while pregnant with her fourth child, Cynthia wrote her first baking book. In 2009 Cynthia developed her kitchenware line comprised of baking pans, utensils and aprons. Since 2010, Cynthia enjoys being the baking expert for ZDF, ARD and a brand ambassador for such companies as KitchenAid, Farmer’s Snack and Baileys. She recently completed her 7th book which will be published in the fall 2017.
