Karen Karp

President OF Karen Karp & Partners

Karen Karp is an enlightened entrepreneur and respected consultant with over 25 years of experience. Since founding Karen Karp & Partners (KK&P) in 1990, she has led the organization to become the nation’s leading problem-solver for agriculture and food-related enterprises, programs and policies. Based in New York City and working nationally (with an emerging practice in Portugal), KK&P works with clients from the government, philanthropic, business and non-profit sectors to plan, execute and evaluate comprehensive agriculture and food system strategies.

KK&P’s diverse team of thinkers and practitioners apply tried-and-true Methodologies and practical experience to each challenge and opportunity, whether the context is a global food corporation, a regional economic development strategy, a climate philanthropist, or a regional fishery.

We navigate complex stakeholder environments, ask nuanced questions, predict challenges, “translate” between agriculture and food system players and, along the way, build trust that enables collaborative problem-solving and productive partnerships.

Karen received honors for her University of Bath School of Management Masters thesis, “How Does Food Sustain Us?” which explored how leaders convey and impart their personal food values within their organizations, and how these communities are then transformed through food. Karen’s home is on the North Fork of Long Island where she farms oysters.
