Lorraine Haist
style features editor, Welt am Sonntag
Lorraine Haist was born in the Southern German wine region of Baden. The many excursions to Alsatian wine makers with her parents made her resent the wine world as a kid, but the proximity to France and Switzerland definitely had a strong impact on her love for all kinds of food. After receiving a law degree, she started her career in journalism as a freelance writer for taz Die Tageszeitung, Süddeutsche Zeitung and Welt am Sonntag. As style editor at ELLE magazine in Munich she managed to eat at least one Butterbrezel per day before she ended up in Berlin. As style features editor at Welt am Sonntag newspaper she travels the world looking for the stories of great chefs, restaurateurs, food producers and women in food. Today she even likes wine.
