Nikki Rose is a Greek American cultural-culinary seminar director, journalist and pro chef living in Crete, Greece for 22 years. She is founder of Crete's Culinary Sanctuaries Educational Network, an award-winning “school without walls.” Rose formed CCS in 1997 to help provide tangible support to residents working on action programs to protect their cultural-natural heritage. CCS is an all-local network of over 50 small businesses and individuals archaeologists, ecologists, organic farmers, heirloom seed savers, chefs, beekeepers, musicians, and many others. We organize 5 to 30-day accredited study tours for academic institutions and professionals covering culture, nature, organic agriculture and cuisine. Over 3,000 students, teachers, researchers and journalists have attended our programs. CCS has received awards from National Geographic, the United Nations CBD, WTTC, and many other organizations. Ms. Rose is also a global adviser for responsible travel/culinary heritage projects and featured in major media outlets and academic publications. She is author of “Crete: The Roots of the Mediterranean Diet," and is working on a documentary highlighting Heritage Protectors in Crete.
